Nicole
First and for most, I'm a newlywed and loving it! I got married to the love of my life, Mr Tyler Reitz, December 15th 2007 and it was the most wonderful day of my entire life. Every day Tyler and I are learning new things about each other and life together and we grow closer and closer each day. Of course we have our ups and downs, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Recording with Tyler

Friday, March 28, 2008

So, Tyler and I discovered tonight that we sing really well together AND I discovered that I sound pretty darned good singing myself! Tyler recorded me singing a Colbie Caillat song and I was very pleased at how I sounded, and no I'm not trying to brag :-) I just never knew I sounded like I did!

Anyways... Tyler and I have found a new wonderful thing to do together and we love it! Yay! Ohhh and it will be our new form of income too ;-) hehehe just kiding just kiding!! But we are gonna start playing and singing at an Art Gallery, so we're very excited for that. Yay!!

Hair Cut/Fun Night w/ Elyce

So I got my hair cut last night, well trimmed, from my very good friend Elyce :-) And we took some pictures so I could of course blog about it ;-) You can't really tell that its really any shorter because my hair looks like crap before and after haha. But non the less, I had to post about it anyways. I had a very fun night with Elyce. We ate yummy BLT sandwiches and talked and she cut my hair and then we watched the stupid TWO HOUR finale of the Apprentice, which I thought was only ONE HOUR long, so it was very boring! Huh Elyce! :-) But it was still very fun to spend some time with my wonderful friend!!

Hooray for Tyler!

Thursday, March 27, 2008

So Tyler called Kay Jewelers this morning to try and fight the $100 charge we got on fixing my wedding ring and he totally got it taken off and he said it was easy too! He just asked for the manager and told her that I hadn't started wearing it until the middle of December so how would we of known to bring it in for its inspection and he said that the manager totally agreed with him and took the charge off as easy as that. Hooray!

Missing Diamond :-(

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

So this morning while I was at work, I looked down at my rings and I noticed that one of my diamonds on my wedding band was missing!! Oh my goodness, I was so sad, and still am. So I took it into Kay Jewelers because we have a warranty on my rings BUT the stupid store didn't replace it for free because I hadn't gotten my wedding band checked to make sure the diamonds were all set in there strong and everything for the 6 month inspection like it needed, which was supposed to be inspected in November, SO I have to pay $100 bucks to replace the diamond. And if I would've got the ring inspected, it would've been free. Ugh. It's just dumb because why would I get a ring inspected that I've never warn before?? So Tyler is going to try and fight it, since I'm not very good at doing things like that. So hopefully we won't have to pay it!! Go Tyler!!

Baby Love.

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

So another one of my friends is pregnant, holy crap, I know! And she had a baby shower tonight which was VERY fun to be able to spend the night with all my girlfriends from highschool, cuz I miss them VERY much! Anyways... I kicked butt tonight with the games we all played too!! I won TWO, yes TWO, prizes tonight and it made me sooo happy cuz I never win anything! :-)

I won a candle and a cool necklace!
And yes, it made me have baby fever again lol, but don't worry, once I go back to work tomorrow it will make me go back to normal ;-) hehe.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Oh Tyler...

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Yup... Tyler made a kitchen mess, and it was so funny that I didn't even get mad, we just laughed really hard and then hugged and I yelled at him to get the camera. Tyler and I were making a smoothie, as you can see, and he forgot to put the lid on when he started the blender, SMART TYLER, haha, so here's his disaster :-)

Peanut Butter Cookies

Today Tyler and I made Peanut Butter Cookies and they are AMAZINGGGG!!! Seriously the BEST peanut butter cookies I've EVER EVER eaten!! The recipe that we used had the option of using brown sugar OR honey and since we didn't have brown sugar, we used honey and I think that's what made them amazing because I've never used honey in making these cookies before, so I highly recommend it! :-)

Free Milk from a Drunk Guy

Thursday, March 20, 2008

The title tells it all :-)

Tyler and I went to the Co-Op tonight to buy some facewash and milk and we were standing back where the milk was, and we saw this new kind of milk that is from Buhl, Idaho, and its in a cool glass bottle and when you buy one you pay a $2.50 deposit and each time you bring in the empty glass bottle you can get another one and if you decide to not get another one, you get your $2.50 back. And the milk is only $2.99, which is cheap cuz I normally buy Organic milk for almost $4.00. Anyways... we were standing back by the milk, contemplating weither or not to get two milks or one. And all of a sudden this random VERY drunk man comes walking by us and totally joins our conversation and says, "get two. why the hell are you arguing about milk" and he just kept going on and
on about it, it was funny. And then he was like "oh I dunno... I haven't been here in so long. Where's the beer at?" So we pointed him in the right direction, and off he went to drink more. And we decided to buy two.
So then we went to the check out to buy our milk and facewash and the drunk man was right in front of us in the checkout isle. And then he was like "hey! Now I gotta buy your milk for you since I made fun of you for arguing over weither or not to buy one or two" So he totally bought our milk for us!! Which was over $10.00 because of the $2.50 deposit on each one, but he did not care! Haha!
So anyways, we got free milk! And its really good! It's straight from the cow, so no nasty stuff, only the good stuff :-)

My new rain boots!

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

So here are the long awaited rain boot pictures of mine that I took today for all you who were eagerly awaiting them (cough.... Shelley) hehe.
And yes, Tyler still hates them, but I don't care! :-)
I wore them all day today and them are so wonderfully warm and it rained all day. I was very pleased!

Berry Smoothie w/ a hint of alcohol

Tyler made a very good smoothie last night that he thought would be good with a little Peach hard alcohol in it and it was very good and by no means got us drunk or even buzzed, so don't worry ;-)

Anyways... it was his own little concoction, but it turned out fabulous! It had plain
yogurt in it, milk, a bag of berries (blue berries, strawberries and blackberries), ice, and the little Peach alcohol shot, that we got from Shelley and Kevin for his birthday (it's the first one we've drank) haha.
So I suggest you try out our recipe! Here's a picture
to let you see how wonderful it looks!

No Festivities for Us

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Yup... Tyler and I didn't celebrate St. Patty's Day last night. We kinda wanted to, but also didn't want to fight the crowds of crazy people all around town. So, instead we went over to my Grandparents and had a green beer with them...... HAHA! Just kiding!  That would've been pretty funny though right? Anyways... we had a wonderful Mexican dinner over at their house, showed them our wedding and honeymoon pictures and I helped my grandma do some sewing on some of my dresses that needing fixed. She's going to start teaching me how to make dresses soon so I can become a little seamstress. Tyler wants me to start making him clothes if I ever get good enough too. He really wants me to make him a vest :-) Which would be fun!

So that is what Tyler and I did last night, and we weren't to disappointed that we didn't go out... maybe next year?

More cooking!!

Sunday, March 16, 2008

Wow! I'm becoming quite the housewife :-) and I'm LOVING it!

I just got done making banana bread and zucchini bread and I'm very excited to see how they turned out! I made banana bread last week for the first time and it turned out wonderful! :-)
So yes... each day I'm becoming more and more in love with cooking! Yay! :-)
And I have to say THANKYOU to Shelley for the wonderful Pyrex cookware! I use it every time I cook and don't know where I would be without it :-) hehe.

My most wonderful Saturday

Saturday, March 15, 2008

Today Tyler and I had a very funny Saturday. We woke up this morning, ate a wonderful HOMEMADE pancake breakfast and then cleaned our house and set out to go find a Easter dress for me, and to buy a powerball ticket for Tyler, which were the ONLY two things we were planning on buying for the day, hehe we'll see about that. We started out by going to the Guitar Center so Tyler could buy some cables for his speakers, or something, so that was the first buy we weren't planning on for the day. Then we went and bought Tylers powerball ticket, because the powerball is an amazing $275 MILLON dollars right now, we've been praying we will win :-) So that was right on the agenda as well. Then we went to go find a wonderful Easter dress for me! We went to Ross and I found the most amazing Easter dress for me, while ALSO finding a cute basket, to put in our apartment under our new night stand by our couches, we also bought a couple pairs of baby clothes for my friend's baby shower in a couple weeks. So there we bought 3 things that we weren't planning on buying :-) but it was WELL worth it cuz the basket and baby clothes are very cute and were well worth buying!

Then we went over to Tyler's parents Consignment Clothing store in Meridian to just hang out and look around and I definitely wasn't planning on buying anything there, until I discovered that I had a 20 dollar credit from consigning clothes! Yahoo!! So I found a new pair of jeans, a cute shirt AND an amazing pair of rain boots! Haha! Tyler made fun of me, but I love them and have SERIOUSLY always wanted to have a pair! So there was 3 more things that were unplanned on buying, but thats ok cuz it was "free" cuz I had credit :-)
Next we went to RC Willy, just cuz Tyler wanted to get a free hotdog :-) which we discovered they don't do anymore, lame! So instead, we bought a tv, dvd player and a thing to mount the tv on our bedroom wall :-) Oh boy! But that is also ok, cuz it was a planned tax return money purchase :-)
So we came home today with a lot more bags in our hands than planned :-) But all in all, it was a wonderful Saturday!!

Cooking with Tyler & Nicole

Friday, March 14, 2008

So Tyler and I cooked again last night and it was very yummy and fun! We made a sandwich called Adam's Sandwich, its from the movie Spanglish that Tyler and I watched on tv a month ago or so and we got the recipe off the internet after we saw how amazing it looked! Here is the recipe if anyone would like to try it:

-8 thick slices of applewood smoked, center-cut bacon
-4 slices of good Monterey Jack cheese
-4 slices of rustic white bread, toaster and still hot
-2 tablespoons mayonnaise
-6 ripe tomato slices
-4 leaves of butter lettuce
-2 teaspoons unsalted butter
-2 large eggs
Directions:
1. Preheat over to 400 degrees
2. Arrange bacon strips on a cookie sheet and roast about 20 minutes until crisp, turning once. Drain on paper towels and keep warm.
3. Heat an 8 to 10 inch nonstick skillet over medium-low heat for 2 minutes. Carefully
crack the eggs into separate ramekins, taking care not to break the yolks. Add butter into the skillet and swirl to coat the pan. When the foam subsides carefully pour the eggs into the pan one at a time. Cover and cook the eggs for two minutes for runny yolks, or two and a half minutes for soft and creamy yolks that are still a little runny.
4. While the eggs are cooking, place the Monterey Jack cheese slices on two pieces of the toast and pop into the over to melt t
he cheese until just melted. Meanwhile, spread the mayonnaise on the other two slices of the toast, and then top those with the bacon, tomato and lettuce. Slide the
egg onto the lettuce centered in the middle of the sandwich. Top the sandwiches with the toast with the now melted cheese and cut in half to release the yolks of the cooked egg.
YUM! Here is a picture to show you how good they are! Sorry the picture isn't very good.

We also made some more yummy Malt-O-Meal muffins, which are SOOO good! Here is the recipe for them as well if you would like to make them too!

-1 egg,
 beaten
-4 tablespoons oil
-3/4 c
up milk
-3/4 cup malt-o-meal instant oats
-1 1/4 cups flour
-1/2 cup sugar
-3 teaspoons baking powder
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in order until flour is moistened.
2. Filly greased muffin tins 3/4 full.
3. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
YUM!! These muffins are sooo good! Here are some pictures of me cooking them :-)

Wishing

Thursday, March 13, 2008

I wish so badly that I could be crafty and make things. Such as knit, sew, and just be amazing with creating things! I was looking at an amazing blog a little bit ago and it made me wish I could make my own dresses! Dresses are my favorite clothing to wear and to be able to make them whenever I wanted would make me the happiest person ALIVE! But honestly I'm not a very artsy or creative person, AT ALL. I always get pretty good ideas in my head, but when I try to make them it all turns out wrong.

I wish that Shelley (my sister-in-law) didn't move to Texas because she was a very very creative, artsy person and she was my inspiration! Shelley, ugh, why did you have to move!! ;-)
So, I think once I have kids and become a stay at home mom, I'm going to buy a sewing machine and start to make dresses for myself, because I WILL need new clothes after having kids, right? If I didn't have a job right now, I would probably start to try and be creative, but right now, I have no time, but I wish I did!!
If anybody lives around me and can teach me how to make cute dresses, please let me know! :-)

Uh oh... I got a speeding ticket...

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

So I got a speeding ticket this morning on my way to work... yippee! :-) I was driving down Capital, and crossing the bridge, and I was going 40 miles an hour, cuz that's usually how fast I go on that road every day, and I honestly didn't even know the speed limit on that road, and I found out that it is only 30, oops. So I was going 10 over and the cop was sitting in the Library parking lot, so I didn't see him till I was "flying" over the bridge/hill thing right before the Library. Uh oh, I'm gonna get pulled over :-) and I did! Yay!

I haven't gotten a ticket in like 5 years, but I have gotten pulled over like 3 or 4 times in the past 2 or 3 years, but I've always gotten off on warning, so I was hoping that this morning would be the same... but I wasn't. Eeek... $75 dollar ticket, but I knew Tyler wouldn't be mad, well, he was a little mad, but I knew he couldn't be as mad as he would like to be, BECAUSE he actually just got a speeding ticket LAST WEEK hahaha, and it was for the same amount, so he really didn't have any room to talk :-)
So... I'm not stressed about it, cuz tax returns are coming soon, but it still sucks! Ugh stinkin police men! Ohh well though... life goes on!

Tyler's Moped

So Tyler inherited a moped from his older brother a couple months ago and has been able to start riding it for the past few weeks because the weather is getting nicer. Tyler was going to try to put another seat on the back, so I could ride with him, but that was before we discovered that since we're both so small, we can both, comfortably, fit on the one seat that is already on there! It's really funny actually!

So that's how we ride together, no need to put another seat on :-) We were also afraid that with two people on it wouldn't be able to go very fast, but we were wrong about that too!
So we have fun riding it around downtown every once in awhile, and we ever took it too Jamba Juice on Overland a few Saturdays ago, and that was pretty funny. It took us double the time to get there, but it was very fun!
Tyler lets me drive it sometimes and he gets embarassed because he has to ride behind me :-) But I love it!
I just tell him that its cute and funny to have a girl driving the moped and the boy to be on the back :-) and he sigh's and says "fine, you can drive it". Hehehe
So thats the story about the wonderful moped! We love it and can't wait for more
warm weather to come so we can ride it lots more!
Here are some pictures of us riding it last night, and how funny we look riding it together...

Wonderful Boise weather

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Today is a wonderful 60 degree day and I am loving it! This weather couldn't have come soon enough! I just love being outside when it is this weather and tonight Tyler and I are going to go on a walk on the greenbelt (one of my favorite things to do)! Here are some pictures of how beautiful Boise is today, even though you can't feel how warm it is, hopefully you can get the picture. I also took a picture of Tyler coming home from work on his moped hehehe.

Ok.... we just got back from our
walk, which was wonderful, and here are some pictures that we took along the way....

WORK

Monday, March 10, 2008

So I decided that I love my job... well... most days :-) Taking care of 3 boys under the age of 8 can be tough some days, but surprisingly, they are VERY well behaved boys, which is very nice for me! Their names are Parker, Ethan, and Cameron and they are all wonderful! Parker is 3 and probably one of the cutest little boys I've ever seen! Ethan is 4 and very active and sometimes out smarts me! And Cameron is 8 and he's a 1st grader, so I only take care of him from 345-530 each day, until the summer time. Even though Parker just turned 3 a couple months ago, he is one of the smartest, most talkative kids I have ever met! It's funny actually, because I think he might talk more than I do! I love him very much! Every time I leave work to go home for the night, he yells "goodbye bicole (which him and Ethan call me cuz they can't say nicole) i wuv you!" And if I don't respond to him he'll yell it to me over and over and over again until I do. I love it! :-)There's to much I could say about Ethan to even know where to start, but in a good way! He is a wonderful 4 year old and he keeps me on my feet all day long! But I love it! He keeps me active! He does like to make up words to call me when he's "mad" at me, such as "booger scratcher" I think thats his favorite one. He does say lots of other words that don't make sense really ever, but they deffinantly make me laugh!

Cameron is a giant! He is 8 years old, but looks like a 10 or 12 year old and acts like one too! All these boys are so smart and act 4 or 5 years older than they really are! Cameron is a master at Guitar Hero and is halarious to watch! He is kind of like that super good 7 year old on youtube! I should probably tape him some day and post it. :-) They are all wonderful, wonderful boys and I wouldn't trade my job for ANYTHING!

Saturday March 8, 2008

Sunday, March 9, 2008

So Tyler and I have been reading a book called The First 90 Days of Marriage, and it has been giving us very good advice on how to make your marriage better and how to set the foundation for it early on, to frame your entire marriage for the rest of your life. I LOVE the book! Honestly, I love all marriage books! I love books that give you advice to practice in your daily life, especially in my marriage, cuz there can't ever be to much advice.

So today we went on a wonderful bike ride to Camels Back Park and we brought along a blanket and our book and read for awhile and it was such a wonderful time to just be with him and read and learn more things to build our marriage and make it even better than it already is! We are learning to be self-less in our reading right now and this whole weekend Tyler has done everything he can to be self-less and really just please me with bringing up things to do that I LOVE. Such as bike rides, being outside, going on walks, reading in the park, ect. Tyler also loves these things too, but my love language is quality time, so he is trying his very hardest to make me happy in that part of my life. So he was very selfless this weekend and it was probably one of the best weekends we've had as a married couple so far! :-)

Cooking

So, since I'm now married, I have decided that I really need to learn how to be a cook for my husband :-)

And, may I say, I'm doing very well at it! I cook yummy bran muffins, and cream of wheat muffins, and very good banana bread the other day! I'm very proud of myself, and so is Tyler.
This is a picture of a breakfast Tyler and I made last Saturday and we were so proud of ourselves, that we had to take a picture of it and may I say that it was GOOOOD!
I have also been making very good dinners lately too. If anyone has any good recipes, that aren't to to hard :-) send me them!
